After staying out until 3am last night we still all managed to get up by 8.45 and out and about by 10 (ish). We walked to Vintgar gorge which had been highly recommended to us by our hostel owner, although she failed to mention the one hour ascent in blistering heat. Shout out to Anna for map reading and leading us all the way there, only helped by a couple of road signs and the occasional local to check that we were on the right track. Stopping halfway at a café was ...

I'm not sure why I'm doing those mileage figures other than as a rough guide to the distance it's going to be from Wales to Split (and probably back again). It's certainly not an accurate overall record of the distance we drive. For example, we did over 100 today, simply driving around northern Slovenia.

I did a whole lot of research yesterday which counted for nothing today as we completely changed our plans. I was going to take Kerry to some ice caves and the pretty town of Helstatt but it meant a bit of back tracking and we decided to push on towards Croatia. Because I refused to drive on the motorways so we could see more of Austria it took us from 10.15 till 5.15 pm to get to our destination. There was ...

... it out. He also gave her a bit of tree to put in helmet as a get well soon present. Overall for the activities Emma won the 'most screaming' award. To be in front of Emma was the best place as you could guarantee a laugh at her face/screaming. Later: After the lake we came back to the hostel and are getting ready to go out and do the Bled pub crawl. Pretty sure we will see all the young people that exist in Bled as there is one bar crawl and 4/5 pubs around the ...

... as Emma decided it would be too difficult without mules to carry ours bags and Lucy didn't seem to keen on taking up the role of chief mule so we ended up getting a 20 minute shuttle bus to Bled. Excited, checking in to our hostel because we knowingly booked the same hostel as Tabbi, Anna, Ellie and Naomi without them knowing. However Lucy and Emma ruined the surprise later on as they stood outside the supermarket, munching their purchases and ...
