      ... a new toy which was a High end binocular, as he was placing it on the Tripod focusing the far of beauty of Sea, Land and Sky ....we took turns like children peeping in with amusement.

In one of the shopping malls in town i came across a big display outlining Chinese horoscopes for 2014 – i’m a Sheep apparently.       We were very lucky and saw, we think, four different whale sharks. Although the visibility was not great we could still see about 5 metres and as we were so close to them we certainly got a birds eye view. Sean even had one swim right underneath him. No pictures I am afraid as I was afraid I ould drop my camera (and I would never have been able to find it if that happened).

      ... and after 9 kilometres of rocky roads, muddy streams and dusty pathways we still felt no nearer, however when we stopped to rest at a small hut we realised how close we were. We were then passed on to another guide who walked with us right up to the edge of the lava flow, a huge wall of black rock, baked in the heat of the sun and almost sparkling in the bright morning light.
