... from the old town. We walk to a bus stop and take it downtown. The problems continue. Sharon is exhausted and wants the nearest hostel, not one 100m further. We end up at Hostel Tyn with a private room. As luck would have it, our new home lands us in the middle of Old Town right behind the Church of Our Lady Before Tyn and the Old Town Square. A nice Thai dinner, bottle of wine, and some gorgeous views of the city makes the world seem much nicer.
Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia, Czech Republic will.traveller... too many people are around.

The hostel has an interesting hobbit look on the outside with a teeny-tiny door. It is a crash pad type place with its small, more communal style. After a night, Sharon decides that in the future, private rooms are preferred. I have become very used to dorms. Hostels have become my way to socialize and further my interactions with folks from other countries. Private rooms do feel great.
Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia, Czech Republic will.traveller... Well ladies and gents, by the time our food arrived, Dani was well and truly tipsy. (We should mention at this point that we hadn't really had much breakfast....so Dani is not a one shot girl by any means, although Lewey still maintains she's a very cheap drunk, hehe).

Lunch was one of the traditional Czech specialties, garlic soup (not a great combination with the alcohol, but at least Dani had it first, not after the soup!), served in a bowl made out of a round loaf of rye ...
Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia, Czech Republic dan-and-dee... was pretty empty, but I met a Canadian girl so we wandered the town in the evening and visited a few bars. Apparently it’s a really popular town on the weekend with a big nightlife… just not so much on a Tuesday night! I guess it was a good thing as we had to trek up a big hill in the morning to catch an 8.30 train to get to Berlin!
Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia, Czech Republic benanna... was put by locals to replicate the story...

One last thing I have to add is what I have seen only here so far. When
paying restaurant/cafe bill, waiters walk up with a big wallet full of
change and money and a bill. You are expected to pay right away, and
they give you change right away. I can see how it can be good: no
confusion about how much was paid or which bill was given, and no
chance to run away... But it also puts pressure on customer to not
check ...
Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia, Czech Republic pitabread... friends. By that afternoon, Tamara had convinced me to change my arrangments again and stay another night. DONE. I figured I had found a place that I was really comfortable with and really having a great time so I thought why leave. The next day was pretty much a repeat of the day prior, a walk into town and great conversation and the day was killed almost too quickly. We had made reservations to busiest restaurant in town. We had tried to get in the last two nights with ...
Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia, Czech Republic mike81... a waterfall I began strolling back through the quaint streets of Mala Strana, over the Charles Bridge and towards Wencelas Square. The Czech Republic was playing Portugal in the euro football championships and a big screen had been erected especially for the match. It was a nice night to watch the match but unfortunately, to the disappointment of the big crowd gathered Portugal won 3-1. I think I might be bringing bad luck around with me; I've been to Poland and the Czech Republic and both ...
Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia, Czech Republic talamarko... It’s simply ingenious what some people can make things look like with concrete. This creative approach was also currently being used to good effect in other purely functional Czech towns we passed through by bus and train, with wavy bright colours used to great effect to cheer up the appearances of a small percentage of the gloomy grey concrete Communist apartment blocks that ...
Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia, Czech Republic troywilkinson... recreation of a knights tourney between 6 knights representing the towns of the rose. The tourney involved spear throwing, Mongol beheading, and of course jousting, unfortunately the weather turned foul on us and had to leave after our fingers started wrinkling up. After so much travelling you'd think we would have bought an umbrella by now, and we have definately needed one, but we keep thinking like Wellingtonians ...
Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic kevnari... Baroque and Rococo townhouses that tourists like the Scotsman come to Kutna Hora for. It's the ossuary at Sedlec. The cemetery at the church pulled in hordes of deceased after an Abbot sprinkled a jar of earth from the Holy Lands on it in the 13th century. The Black Plague boosted the popularity of the place, forcing the crypt to become a bone yard for 40,000 dead Czechs. In 1870 a local woodcutter was hired to set ...
