    So relaxing...

    from

I stayed at Penzion Mayer for two nights, but could have easily stayed longer. It is in a gogeous location - very peaceful. Breakfast outside each morning was an absolute delight. (it was lovely weather, but there was the option of eating in the dining room if preferred). The room was very spacious and airy, with a small balcony. The bathroom was quite large. Everything was very clean. Oh, and added bonus - BBC world was a informative change from the normal cable tv available at hotels.

Better than Home Away from Home!

    from

Charming place to stay! Wonderful food and pleasant, personal but not obtrusive service - makes one feel your arrival has been anticipated. Our departure was very early in the AM but we were treated to personal sacks of delicious thick sandwiches, fruits and beverage to acomodate us on our journey - a very thoughful touch!

    Fantastic hotel

    from

We have just returned from a two night stay at Pension Meyer, the Manager was very helpful and went out of his way to recommend what we should do. The room was huge compared to stardard hotels in Slovenia and there was a nice balcany and it was spoteless clean. Highly recommended. The restaraunt in the Hotel is excellent as well.

    Fantastic hotl

Wonderful hotel, warm, clean, welcoming. Manager very helpful, and his wife also very friendly- have booked again

    Best place ever!!

    from

This place was the most beautiful and best places I have ever stayed at! The manager was brilliant - we wanted to go to Vintgar Gorge and order a taxi - he offered to drive us himself as he was going that way. Everyone was friendly, the breakfast was supurb. Our room was large with a balcony and a view over the lake. The price was also excellant. I would recommend that anybody stay here - you won't be dissapointed.

The place to stay in Bled

    from

We have just spent the Christmas long weekend here and had a wonderful stay. The place has so much character, is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. AND the restaurant is just great....we had an amazing Christmas eve dinner here! I'd definitely stay here again.

    Absolute bargain!

    from

Stayed with husband and toddler - no probs in getting a travel cot put in room which was big enough to accommodate it. Clean rooms, good location (10 mins walk to lake and town), great restaurant - big advantage was we could put the child alarm on and go down for a lovely dinner. Breakfast was good too. All in all - a fraction of the price of equivalent hotels.

    Beautiful slovenia

    from

stayed in the pezion mayer may 2005 with my husband absoloutly delighted with the hotel rooms were spacious very clean and with lovely furniture. my husband was ill on arrival and the hotels owner helped me to obtain medical help for him which we both greatly appreciated.

all the staff were very helpful and attentive. we booked half boardthe breakfasts are delicious and with thomsons that means you only have a limited choice of your main course at the evening meal but if theres nothing that appeals to you they are happy to give you something you like. the restaurant which has an excellant reputation locally is open to the public and can get very busy so you may have to wait for a table at busy times but thats not a problem because you are in such beautiful surroundings. this was our first time in slovenia but we enjoyed it so much we came home and booked to go again in 2006 its such a lovely country and lake bled is so beautiful all in all one of the best weeks we have had anywhere cant rate it highly enough.

    Beautiful

Lake Bled is one of those places that you can't stop taking pictures.

It is such a beautiful area.

We also had gorgeous weather allowing us to get back into shorts and t-shirts.

We hired bikes and rode the 6kms around the pretty lake stopping numerous times for photos.

We had so much fun on bikes again that we decided to do a longer ride out into the nearby towns ...

After one day in Lake Bled we decided we were going to stay until we had to go back to Ljubljana to meet Josh.
As we were staying for so long it made sense to do a big food shop for the week and after getting some insider information from Jaka the hostel host about the best supermarkets. We decided to hitch hike to the nearest Lidl as this was the biggest, best and cheapest supermarket in the area. 5 minutes into ...

... booked our accommodation at this old jail converted into a hostel. It was a interesting place as our room was an old cell that had a circular bed inserted bunk bed style. The hostel had a great atmosphere with people from every age group and nationality relaxing in the bar and restaurant. We walked into the centre of Ljubljana which is very beautiful and devoid of cars. A big castle sits high up on a hill overlooking the town and there is about 15 bridges that take you back and forth ...

As evening approached, the three of us descended the funicular and walked to a riverside café for wine and tapas that fueled a spirited conversation about our families and travels.

The following morning – our last day in Slovenia – was a leisurely repeat of walking along the river, crossing the bridges and wandering to the finish line of the Ljubljana Marathon where we ...

... district on the river. It was also just down the street from the main park, Tivoli. Basically everything we could want to see was within a 5-10 minute walking radius. As it is already getting late, we decided to just walk around and orient ourselves. A walk through Tivoli Park (which included trying the local favorite of a horse burger- not recommended), a quick peek in at the Contemporary History Museum, a thorough exploration of the river area complete with ice ...
