... again 5kms before Cadca, with no stopping until nightfall. ... long before that. It was added to many times from the 15th century to the 18th. Sadly it was badly damaged in a fire in 1800 that apparently burned for 14 days. It was again restored into what we see today.





Entry to the castle and St Martin's Chapel inside the walls costs €6 (but only €3.50 for the old git). ...

... amazingly well preserved. It has lots of the original furniture from various owners and the wall frescos are very well preserved. But what Impressed us the most was the intricately carved woodwork in every room and on most wall surfaces. A really beautiful castle.

The afternoon was spent with Valerie's aunt and 2 cousins. They could not have been nicer ...
