... 20 yards before my torch beam feels totally inadequate in this pitch-black forest and I suddenly feel very alone and vulnerable. I head back to the van. The following morning, I read of the 1.5m long wildcats that live and hunt in the forest. Off to Morskie Oko today (once we finally dragged ourselves out of bed!). Morskie Oko is a lake in the middle of apt he Tatras mountains and national park. We had to catch a bus from zakopane 40 minutes out of town and then it took two hours to walk there and two hours to walk back. We went off to the Anne frank house today which is about a diary a little girl wrote when they went into hiding during the Second World War. They were hiding from the Germans who were taking hostage of all the Jews and sending them off to concentration camps once found. It was a really good museum with a horrible story.
