The Kindness of Strangers
When I got up on Saturday morning, I knew I had to pack. I also knew that I would have to send a box of things home, as I had far too much now to pack in my little backpack. I may have started out with a 32 pound backpack, but I had bought so many Christmas presents and boots, that I was now overflowing. I had managed to get a box during the week from my hosts and so proceeded to pack it up in preparation for going to the post office. I had inquired during the week ...
Walk along the wall - Part 2
So I set off to find the famous Lover's Walk. I can see why it is called that. When I went behind the buildings opposite the Town Square, I discovered a medieval wall. I took that question to Wikipedia, which only says that the church is modeled after churches in Jerusalem (where I can only imagine there would be a shitstorm if they were writing any sacred names). I ...
Brasov: Transylvania not spooky...nice but! =P
... the basis of a lot of the characteristic traits of vampires. Look up Strigoi. As for the story themselves, well it was all fiction and Bram Stoker used count Vlad as the basis of his character. A bit sad yes, no coffins in the basement or towering spires with lightning or bats but it was interesting to see the man behind all the stories.
Headed of to Rasnov next for another trip to a castle...only to find out that this was a ...
