Clear blue skies were waiting behind the curtains this morning. The stunning views from the breakfast room almost making up for the rubbish breakfast. To anyone travelling this road I would say avoid the Cabana Capra. Despite, or maybe because of, its great location little effort has been made here; we were glad to leave.

Riding the higher section in perfect weather we have at last found a road worth riding. ...

Today we made it to the Brasov train on time. It was a 10 hour trip which I mostly spent napping, reading, and catching up on pro wrestling and Game of Thrones. The Romanian countryside is rather nice, to be honest. There's a distinct orange and rusty brown theme to all of the towns we passed, all of them centered around an impressive church. I'm glad I'm spending time in the larger of these ...

... us, we were hoping to still be able to take in some of the nice views. After passing more warning signs about bears, we headed further and further up the mountain through the woods. The beginning of the hike was fairly steep, challenging my asthma, but the rest of it was easy and more enjoyable, especially since we didn't see any bears we had to worry about. The he ended at a waterfall and while it's somewhat nice, we have been so spoiled with amazing waterfalls, that ...

... as the view on the way there. On the way back to the castle to rest and prep for dinner we ran into the five pm local cow transfer. Every day previously we had heard them pass by our window (if we were home) but it was funny being stuck amongst slow moving cows as there is nothing to be done but wait. They head to the field at seven every morning, and home at five every night. Clanging their bells-- Beckett is getting really good at "mooing." We put Beckett back in ...

    ... him that he would
just give him a warning today! Phew!

Continued, but a bit more respectful of the speed limits, (unlike
the Romanians!) who drive like MANIACS. The
number of near misses we saw, with 2, 3 or 4 cars (& lorries!) all vying for space to overtake first, on solid
white lines, hairpins bends etc. I only
drove for 20 miles, and that was more than enough. I was a nervous wreck!
