So, one of the unintended consequences of travel to a big city is exposure to the less fortunate in society. Elizabeth and Jack, like so many of us, know only a world of privilege and immediate gratification. They have rarely been exposed to homeless people and the underclass. Handicapped people are well catered for on transport such as trams, Drivers stop, put out access ramps (no rush) and make sure people move aside to make room.
