... of people were out picnicking and walking dogs.
Then I hopped on another bus to the Mission district, named for the Mission Dolores and San Francisco's oldest neighbourhood. The mission was built in the late 1700s and is the oldest building still standing in San Francisco. I have to be careful here so I don't upset too much my friend who went to San Francisco last year and was unable to go to Alcatraz because the government had shut down due to, um, something. I finally got my wish to go to a little Japanese restaurant three blocks down the road (and unfortunately three back up again on the way home!), Maru Sushi. As usual at a Japanese restaurant, we find it a "bit much" trying to sort out the menu. However, we each chose one dish and they were delicious, tempting us to try one more. Definitely a memorable meal.
