... visiting San Francisco and we loved it. We did the tourist boat tour of San Francisco Bay, out to the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz. We walked up the hills to Lombard Drive....the crazy 1 mile serpentine, Chinatown, Russian Hill, and Nob Hill. Then, back down to Pier 39 for dinner.
Off to Napa Valley tomorrow.
... moly, it was freezing down there. The wind was howling and I only had a very light jacket.
I had to find me a shop that sold windcheaters really quickly. Luckily I found one and got a fleecy jacket that I am now practically living in. I walked around the wharf for a little while, had a look in the shops and saw a great view. Managed to get the bus back to accommodation without getting lost.
No need for an alarm this morning - I was awake @ about 5 a.m. But that’s not too bad considering the 3 hour time difference from home. This morning we headed to the Rock….the infamous Alcatraz Prison! We hopped on a vintage streetcar and headed to Pier 33 where the ferry boats leave for Alcatraz. It was a beautiful blue sky day, but still glad I was wearing a jacket…it was a wee bit chilly! It’s all about the layers!!
