The best bed I have slept in, nice clean, tidy and near centre of town.

          A great Perth Hotel!

A small, business, boutique hotel I believe they call it. Room small, so glad Danny managed to upgrade us but the bed was ginormous, very clean and bathroom great. The staff on reception were always very helpful and the hotel is in a great position for everything. Within a few mins walking distance to the City, Swan River, bus and train stations as well as Northbridge. Discounted breakfast at Miss Maud's over the road - buffet style and everything you could ever want in a breakfast- bit pricey at €23 but we also took out some fruit and a cake for lunch. Would recommend this hotel.

Today we have planned and packed our gear for the next phase of our journey, tomorrow. We are only allowed a small bag on board the train and suitcases have to be put in the luggage van. What to take?
Then we walked in to the Hay Street mall, and ate lunch in the food court. Used the free wifi there a couple of times, as o0ur hotel says the …

This morning after we had breakfast at 'Miss Maud' - a Hotel opposite ours, with a bakery and cafe, we walked to the train station and caught the train to Fremantle, a 30min ride for just $4.60 each, each way. Fremantle has 2 free bus routes - blue and red. So we took the blue bus to the Markets. Wandered round there for a while, lots of ethnic …

          Day out at Rottnest Island

Up and organised early - no difference there! -so that we could walk to the ferry terminal to be there at 8.00am. Took a wrong direction and walked much further than needed, but still got there about that time. The ferry took 60mins going 'up' the Swan river to Fremantle - they say up, but it is actually down to the port. Interesting trip with a …

          A wet day

This has been the first wet day we have had. We went out walking around the water front, through the Supreme Court gardens, into Barrack Square, and around Elizabeth Quay. Booked tickets to Rottnest Island for tomorrow. Walked further and over a new foot bridge and the heavens opened. People scuttled to the closest shelter - umbrellas over picnic …

          Goodbye to our van

Up and organised early as we had to pack up the van, our cases, and do a clean. I also did washing early and got it dry before we left. Gave some of our spare food to the old chap in the next van. He even took the rest of the milk and butter which was good as I hate to throw good food away. Read the emails, and 'stuff'. Discovered that the big moon …
