      A great Perth Hotel!

A small, business, boutique hotel I believe they call it. Room small, so glad Danny managed to upgrade us but the bed was ginormous, very clean and bathroom great. The staff on reception were always very helpful and the hotel is in a great position for everything. Within a few mins walking distance to the City, Swan River, bus and train stations as well as Northbridge. Discounted breakfast at Miss Maud's over the road - buffet style and everything you could ever want in a breakfast- bit pricey at €23 but we also took out some fruit and a cake for lunch. Would recommend this hotel.

... is a sure sign that tomorrow's going to be a scorcher. Andy went to collect (his daughter) Louise from the airport and before long we were all catching up around the outdoor dinner table in the balmy evening air. Eventually, the time came to wrap things up and we were driven by Louise to the amazing house that she and her boyfriend Shaun had built. We were introduced to Shaun, who had just got back from football training and were soon settled in to our home for the next couple of ...

Heading back to the coffee club at the entrance, we soon ordered and sat down in the blazing sun waiting for our coffee when Jo rang to say she had finished and was on her way over. My breakfast hot pot was lush, consisting of chorizo slices, mushrooms, onions in a neapolitan sauce with poached eggs on ...

... Beach. When we got there we happened to be right where the council was struggling to load a dead whale onto a 30 tonne truck. It had washed up on the beach and we had been listening to radio reports of the difficulty the Council had been having getting rid of it....and here we were watching it being finally loaded onto a truck. It took them a while!

Australia is a funny country that way. Some people work so many hours, but food courts in Perth are closed at 3pm and shops close a lot earlier than in NZ. Despite all my moanings it w12as a memorable trip, among the best I remember. The sights were absolutely amazing; the ...
