      ... are allowed up the narrow tower at a time should have told me that it's a small space up top. You pay once you're at the top of the narrow spiral staircase, and then you have to climb a ladder to get outside for the real view. At the top of the ladder you squeeze through a tiny door (it's a little awkward) and then BAM you're outside and way above the main market square!       So it's late afternoon on our first full day in Rothenburg. I didn't get to blog last night due to an experience we had with two Army reserve officers stationed in Germany, but I'll get to that.

      This morning we woke up to the smell of rural Germany and realised that the building opposite our guesthouse was in fact a barn.
      We had over slept, so quickly got ready and went downstairs to enjoy a delicious Bavarian breakfast. Our hostess was lovely. We left with full bellies for a post breakfast walk around the town.
      It was a cool morning but so refreshing to be out exploring. The kids enjoyed seeing the farm animals, especially some very cute calves.
