Slovenia is definitely on my "must come back to" list, as we have only just scratched the surface here...especially in this north western corner where there is a huge national park, many mountains worth hiking, and many rivers to explore. Next time might try and pick places a bit more off the beaten tourist trail though. ...

... views it has over the lake. The castle is very high up on a cliff overlooking Lake Bled and we certainly took a lot of pictures up there. The cstle had a few different levels of outside terraces abd we visited each one. We spent some time looking at the exhibits inside the castle , then headed out to take a drive around the lake. ... for a while now. Yum! After a brief stop at the hostel, I headed to town where I found the tour company’s office to be closed until 16h30. Dammit! Headed towards the lake and found a bench. Vegged out for a while in the last of the sunshine until I heard thunder. Headed back to town just in time to shelter before a huge cloudburst. Only lasted about 5 mins but it did pour. Bought train tickets to go to Zagreb (Croatia) tomorrow. Quite a few trains per day. Takes about 2/3 hours and costs 13 euros for a second class ticket.

Now relaxing in room with the big screen tv and the free wifi..
