... in San Marco square. This place was a true gem. Behind the palace walls was room upon room of the most decadent artwork covering the walls and ceilings. It is also home to the largest piece of artwork in the world. This museum was much more than a palace - it included a rich history of Venice's politics and the royal family and included access to the old prison cells and weapons used in war. This city has a colourful history and through my walking ...

Since we had been exploring for a while, we decided to grab lunch at a local restaurant with Italian influences. I tried the seafood and garlic panzerrotto which was easily one of my favorite meals during my trip.

Post breakfast we strolled through the old town before heading to the Hotel Sacher for our 5 course luncheon extravaganza. The Hotel Sacher is Salzburg's only 5 star ...

... scenery, and relax. (The weather was gorgeous, by the way.)

After recharging our batteries and resting my feet, went to the restaurant where all but Randall had a meal; mine was good and the waitress -- a bit cool when we walked in --- warmed to us. Caught bus back to bahnhof for train back to Wien. I was surprised at how many beggars, etc. there were on the streets. Arrived in Wien around 2130.
