... scurrying into the safety of shop doorways. The laneways wind and zig zag and are seldom straight. We are told the theory behind this was to confuse and deter the Pirates. There are shops selling everything - clothes and jewellery being the predominant items, but plenty of cafes. All the buildings are white and i can't help wondering what the colour charts look like in the local paint and hardware stores. Window trims seem to be the only choice available ...

... last two days. That was fortunate because my leading edge deflated and that meant that the kite just sat at the edge of the window fully powered and without me being able to edge my board to slow it down. Luckily I was close to shore and I ended just a little downwind of the kite school. It was time to call it a day.

Friday 4th October
Yesterday we were in Santorini. OMG - love this place. We did our only tour of the cruise. An overview of the island. Stopped off at a monastery, a winery for pics. Then on to Oia ( ee-ya). This is the most magical place - what was most fascinating was the number of Japanese brides there for photo shoots!!!!!!!! They are hard to escape - every where!!!!!!!!!
Then on to Fira - the capital - where we had lunch at a gorgeous ...

... our shoes and walked in the water. It felt cold at first, but then felt good. The challenge was cleaning off our feet w/o a towel, so we could put our shoes back on.
