On the road to Austria via Liechtenstein. Bern tells us that today is brought to us by the letter "S" .... Swarovski, Schnitzel , Strudel and Schapps :) We drove through some stunning countryside with soaring mountains and rolling green hills before stopping at the Liechtenstein capital of Vaduz. A really quaint little town with some interesting sculptures in the town square. Overlooking the town is the palace of the royal family. We had ...

Early morning we went to Oberammergau, which is famous for painting on the wall. We took picture with the little red hood. They also have a church with the Russian dome style. The top of the mountain was several things, the most immediate of which was cold! On the ground in Garmisch the temperature was 26 degrees, but on the peak it was four. It was also windy. The wind was like a hand on our backs, constantly threatening to push us over. Despite the cold, the sky was clear. We had heard that on a clear day ...

Today I got up feeling much better then when I woke up in the middle of the night, which I was very thankful for. We decided we definitely wanted to spend another night here in Innsbruck, before our Mediterranean cruise. We went to see if we could extend our stay here at the Hilton, but they were booked. We ended up moving hotels down the street to Hotel Nuva. This hotel is very nice and very up to date and ...

... to catch our train to Munich! The rain kindly held off for us during our trip up the alps, but it promptly returned in the afternoon (rain really is the theme of our trip, that and historic building restorations - nothing like seeing an ancient building with scaffolding in front it!) It was a busy but really amazing 24 hours! Munich so far has also been incredible, but more about that tomorrow! Lots of love (all the way from Germany) ...
