... Tree Lodge seem very short). The room was great – with awesome views (of the clouds). ... it was very refreshing. The men's changing area is basically in plain view of any passersby so that was interesting.

We booked our flight for 2pm and rushed around in order to meet them in Interlaken where they led us by car to the landing field. We then proceeded up the mountain in a van. A last big day of Swiss hiking began today back on the Schilthorn. An almost clear sky greeted us as we rode up the 4700 or so feet from Murren, at 5361 ft. elevation, to the top just under 10,000. Not too high by Colorado standards, however here at this higher latitude it is amazingly high! We were debating where to hike today, and on the way up in the cable car looked down on various trails. ... expansive valley to the sheer and jagged alpine peaks that seemed to rise indeterminally into the mists, invoked a sense of majesty and awe that few scenes could. The deep quiet snuggling itself into wakefulness between distant bell dings and the echos of mountain bird calls, only adding to the serenity that envelopes this region. After a tiring day of 'ups', sleep came quickly in the dark, cool and quiet of the Murren evening.
