Woke up to some very ****** weather this morning and didn't leave the Valley Hostel until after 2pm. Had an over priced feed at a place in Lauterbrunnen and Straight to the Gondola for the trip up to Murren. ... we got back to mürren township we went into the supermarket and bought some lunch and I bought a shot glass souvenir which has the mountains on it. We went back to Lara's holiday house and ate lunch in the sun, with the Swiss alps staring at us right off the balcony! Was such a stunning view as the weather was so nice! I had arranged earlier that I was going to do a paraglide through the alps, so as it was approaching 2.30pm we packed up ...
... and before heading down to Birg on the cable car whilst Ruth, Alex and I headed down the James Bond run to meet up with him and have some highly recommended curly fries at the cafe there.
While we were having our curly fries, one of the other Oakhall holiday makers, Kat, joined us. She had been stuck trying to get up to Birg and had missed her friends so she asked to join us in the cafe. Her lesson was in the morning and her boyfriend, Mark, had his lesson in ...
... little leprechan"...him!) but we were able to see almost all of the mountains in the Lauterbrennen valley. We went to the top, called the Piz Gloria which had an observation deck, a rotating restaurant and a James Bond exhibit...they filmed the James Bond movie from 1969 in this area...something about Her Majesty's ????, had the James Bond guy that only made one movie in it.
There was about 6 inches of snow on the observation ...
... paths back down to Murren...somehow something is wrong with their signs...the first sign pointed us in the direction of the town and it said "40 minutes to Murren". About 40 minutes later we saw another sign that pointed to Murren and it said "40 minutes to Murren"! It didn't matter, we spent an incredible day in heaven on earth!
