Woke up to some very ****** weather this morning and didn't leave the Valley Hostel until after 2pm. Had an over priced feed at a place in Lauterbrunnen and Straight to the Gondola for the trip up to Murren. What would have been an epic scenic journey was covered in fog and rain the whole trip. only 30 odd mins all up. Arrived in Murren and it was …
... stuff and went back to the gondola, there we met the others about to also do the paraglide. The pilots of the paraglides soon arrived after about 10-15mins waiting, we then hiked up to the top and got all ready to go! Both Lena and Lara didn't want to do it, so they planned to meet me at the bottom once I'd finished. The paraglide was absolutely awesome!! Would totally recommend doing it and the sights were unbelievable! It wasn't scary at all! ...
... black run back to Birg.
Ruth and I took this in the morning as the snow was in good condition and it was less busy than later. The run was in good shape and it is always a good challenge, however it finishes with a long track section which is uphill at the end, the trick being to keep as much speed as you dare from the steeper section. After this we headed back to Birg to give Alex some snow time.
Whilst we skied, Ruth and JJ took our boot bags down to ...
... killed by the sport! They jump about 5 times in a day here...they had the best of all situations...they could take a tram, then a train to the Winteregg stop. They then took a trail to the edge of the cliff, geared up and took off flying...about 30 seconds later they are landing in the meadows below ready to go again...Dar got a couple of pictures of them.
We had lunch, bought Swiss watches and knives, trinkets from Switzerland ...
... steak with mushroom sauce, potatoes au gratin and broccoli...and chocolate mousse!
To top the night off, we had a concert from two local guys, one playing the accordion and the other playing the alpine horn! It was wonderful...even did the chicken dance!
Lovin Murren...hope the weather will hold...pray hard!
Love ya all,
