Went for a walk down through the town for late brekky/lunch. Come back to hotel about 1300 and started to pack suit cases and get things organized for our journey up to visit Ricarda in Greifswald. Had a afternoon nap. Went down to bar at 1800 and caught up with Narelle n Gerrard from Darwin. Had tea with them in hotel and went back to their room until midnight. Great night ...
Had breakfast at the little cafe down by the train station and caught up with Cheryl from Brisbane. Off into Munich and Oktoberfest again to see it sober and look for lost n found for Go Pro n camera gear. No luck but there must have been at least 20,000 people there you could hardly move. No luck with lost n found and made a police report for insurance claim. Went back to train station and found a nice quiet pub for a snack and a few beers. Caught train back about ...
... memorable were the Imperial Palace, Sisi's museum & St. Stephens Cathedral. The story of Sisi (Elizabeth, empress of Austria) is quite fascinating, I would encourage you to google her & read about her life.
Today we took the train from Vienna to Kitzbuhel. We had to transfer trains in Worgl, & expected to have 16 mins to make the connections. Well ...

So I know it's been three months now since we got back from Austria, but I still want to finish my blogs. So here goes. Hopefully they will be briefer, since I don't remember as many details at this point.
This morning we went to the Kitzsteinhorn, the mountain in Austria with the highest viewing platform. But we only had a short 30 minute drive this time, to ...
... we couldn't see it that well because there were clouds covering the mountain tops on that side of the valley. But the view was still amazing. Because at the head of the valley was a smaller snow-covered mountain called Johanisberg. And descending from the mountain and into the valley was the largest glacier in the eastern Alps, the Pasterzengletscher. We later learned that the glacier has retreated 2 km in recent history, and is expected to be completely gone in 35 years ...
