... Vienna opera house, street musicians performing in the streets. Vienna is a shoppers dream, which I would compare with London, Paris or New York. There is a street (actually 3 or 4 blocks) which is referred to as the "unaffordable street". We saw many well known stores: Mont Blanc, Louis Vuitton, Ferrari, Maserati, Tiffany, etc. We spent 3.5 days in Vienna, visiting the ...

    ... he translated for us.

When they got back the clothes still weren't dry. We fixed lunch and then headed out for the afternoon. We walked into town to the train station and rented bikes. We rode uphill to Mayrhofen (Mare-hoe-fun) about 6 miles away. Luckily it was along the river and the railroad track so there were few hills. We were up at 7:30 and headed to Gnadenwald where we paid to drive another panoramic road, just 4.50 Euro this time. ... we had a drink at the bar and took our laptop down there where it works a lot better!! Tonight we walked down to what seems like a local social club. It was full of Austrians and they seem to be enjoying themselves. The meal was okay – I had fish but as you can tell it wasn’t outstanding. Doesn’t matter. Back in the room for planning for tomorrow and it doesn’t seem that noisy after all thank goodness.

    Rain, Silver Train, and Rain

I was woken up at 8:00 by the rain pouring on the roof of our penthouse. Derek was up at 8:45, Erin at 9:00 and I woke Larry up at 9:15 in hopes that the rain would quit. It did not. We spent a lazy morning writing blogs, reading and surfing the internet. The rain started to abate a little about 11:00. The highlight of the morning was the 11:30 arrival of the steam train on the tracks by our apartment. We watched from the balcony. We ...
