So today was an example of how wonderful my husband Craig really is. Many years ago in 1983 when we Eurailed our way around Europe our train stopped at a pretty place called Zell am See in Austria. We were going to Salzburg and Craig said at the time – let's go back and have a look at this town one day. So it was on his bucket list. ... reason Eagles Nest was preserved was that it was under Allied control until 1952 and a German official decided that it could be used to generate tourism for the area. As a result, all of Eagle's Nest is as it was when the Allies took over. The elevator was something else covered completely from floor to ceiling in brass. There was even an old clock and telephone dating to the early 1940s.

... were all these cool old tractors passing us on the road. We got stuck behind a few too, but we didn't mind because it was really neat to see the tractors!

Before getting back to Zell am See, we stopped at a Hofer to get some groceries. And then accidentally took the tunnel again where the exit to Zell am See was closed. So we had to backtrack again to get to our apartment for the evening.
