... the rooms. This late 19th century castle houses rooms inspired from all over the world. Some tastefully decorated and some only the uber rich can truly appreciate. Take a picnic and make a day of it on the luscious grass fronting cause the trains run irregularly in the afternoon. The town also has some great eateries on offer, slightly overpriced but if you look around a bit you can get some good deals like the free beer at the Irish pub when you order a ...

It's extremely large with towers and all kinds of decorative accents. When we approached the ...

... descendants were able to prove ownership and reclaim the castle which is back in private hands-- oddly, the claim didn't include all the artifacts and furniture, which the governments kept and put in a separate museum-- which nobody visits! This leaves the actual castle quite bare. Finally, there is no actual association between Vlad Tepes, Dracula, Bram Stoker and Bran Castle-- the connection is tenuous at best. Stoker never actually visited Romania, but ...

... at no extra charge), wee kitchen and musty bathroom. It's in the old town, just across the street from the main square, squeezed in among other apartments behind the stores. My window looks out at a parking lot with gardens. Just outside of my apartment is a sweet flower garden sitting in the rubbley courtyard.

The next day I explored the foot of Mount Tampa, walking along the outside of the city wall, where the townsfolk jog and children play. I came across what I ...
