... All the Christmas decorations and markets are still up which is beautiful- and of course there is still so much snow on the ground. Lanterns were being set off into the air and fireworks are pretty much BYO- people had them in hands and just set them off! It was so crazy, fireworks absolutely everywhere all around us! We'd get such big frights because they were so loud, but they were ...

After a huge included breakfast at the restaurant next door to the hotel we headed up Mt Tampa on the cable car. Brasov has it's own version of the "Hollywood sign" and after following a dirt trail for 10mins we arrived at a look out platform just next to where the sign sits up in the hills. After the help from the lovely guy at the hostel we set off. Turns out that we weren't actually that far from it the last time we were here and in fact it was just around the bend at the top of the hill. As it was earlier today, there were more people also travelling the same way which helped. As we turned the corner, we were pleased to see ...

... about!). We have a long walk towards the head of the train, which has about 40 carriages. Naturally, we can find Car 7, but the one which must be 8 has a damaged number. We get in the wrong end, and have to work our way through a mass of school kids. Are running out of numbers when we get to a 5-seat compartment with 15 and 16 free by the window. We are not 100% certain this is us, but put up the bags and wait to get shifted. There is a young woman in with us, and we try ...
