It was believed to have been built in the early 1200s. How crazy is that? It was made with stones and bricks for its walls, and wood for its gates. Again, it was something I had never seen. After the help from the lovely guy at the hostel we set off. Turns out that we weren't actually that far from it the last time we were here and in fact it was just around the bend at the top of the hill. ... bags at the station while you visit Peles Castle. There are no obvious signs to storage lockers, but a questioning gesture re the bags to the woman Station attendant takes us to the toilet attendant, who has a cupboard big enough for a few bags. The door is shut while negotiations go on, so we think this is not an official storage. We leave all 4 bags, and head out the front and take the first taxi that offers, for 15 Lei. It is a rip-off, but we don't want to waste ...
