    Hello from IOS! You have heard a fair amount about Naxos but I thought I'd fill in the details. We had five nights in Naxos in total. As soon as we got off our (wrong and way faster) boat we loved it! There were lots of families around, tourists but far fewer English people. Lots of local taverns and places to eat. A much more friendly vibe in general than Mykonos! So the highlights of Naxos include - cycling, the boat, a couple of really nice beaches and the outdoor cinema. Oh and ...

    ... water was incredibly calm, leaving my thoughts crisp and undistorted. Then I called the Yacht service in Parikia again, around 9:15---now past the time that we had been expected there. A familiar voice answered and quickly realized what I had called for. It was Michaelis, and he was happy to hear that we were close by and told me to sit tight---they would come and help.     ... to come we had imagined that it would be very quiet with the beach bars & restaurants closed but were very surprised to find that most places were still open and we made a mental checklist of where we wanted to come back to.We also took our first test of the water and were shocked at how cold it seemed to be, though the bright day out of the water quickly chased off any chill.
