... market, but we only had one night there, barely enough time to enjoy the atmosphere. Compared to other markets and such, we found shopping was better in Innsbruck compared to Munich. Swarovski crystal originated here and so that was also a big shopping draw. Their most recent orb for Christmas is exquisite!
While in Munich, I took a side trip without Jon to Salzburg, Austria. I've always wanted to visit Salzburg ever since I saw the "Sound of Music". Our ...

not want to get the Sunday sailing from Amsterdam and so would waste a day and
catch the Monday.
The plan was to stop off at Seefeld which is my usual stop and ride the
next 600 or so km to Amsterdam with the usual stop at Darmstadt. However tonight
looking at the maps I suddenly realised the total ...

... so intricate and were hidden in some of the designs in the rooms. These rooms were very detailed- in the King's bedroom, some of the woodworking alone took 3 years to finish just in that room! It was a short tour, but we were able to spend as much time as we liked outside and in the shops, which was in an unfinished part of the castle. It was all so interesting to be able to see both the finished and unfinished part of the castle! I liked that we were able to see both ...
