... of this I was stranded in the city centre for nearly
two hours in the dark. I say stranded, though I didn't mind this at all, and
could have spent another hour or so wondering around had it not been 0 degrees
outside.

I don't know anything about accommodation in Kutna Hora as I went back to
Prague that evening, but it would be worthwhile staying overnight here.

Visited the Bone Church of Kutna Hora which was originally a Medieval mining town located in NE Bohemia some 68 Ks from Prague. This church harboured hundreds of human bones as the city did not escape the second bubonic plague. As two thirds of the population died as a result the grave soon became full. ... stuff here, we saw the massive and beautiful St Barbara's Cathedral, the stone fountain and had a look in a couple of shops. We took the train from Prague to Kutna Hora and back which is about an hours journey and cost us maybe $10nzd return. So not bad at all for a neat day exploring another city, seeing something truly bizarre and beautiful and making new friends. I quite like Czech Republic.   Its starting to get cold now. ... to dinner at a traditional Czech Restaurant and had pork knee, with mustard and horseradish (a bit like a leg of lamb arriving at the table) and a litre of dark beer - and sausages with sauerkraut and a salad of grilled goats cheese with walnuts. It was a very interesting and tasty meal. Did not feel hungry afterwards
