The next part of the ascent was to be by chairlift up a ski run, however the chairlift wasn't operational, so we began the hour long hike up with all of the other folk who were kitted up ready to ascend Mt Everest! We followed the windy gravel track up with the occasional shortcut up the steep grassy ski slopes all the way to the restaurant/base camp I guess.
