... horrific ones too. There is an English theatre, it's closed at the moment but outside is a cupboard with novels in and on it a sign saying that they are free to take. They are all in English and make an effort to entice others to read and learn our language. Imagine a Polish theatre in London that did that. How would that go down. I see a bus saying Frankfurt ...

So after two very messy hours in the kitchen, I had a lemon meringue pie with a crust that was too thick and buttery (the substitution for shortening is butter, but 25% more of it), and a meringue topping that was too flat. Two years ago Tim gave me a German shirt saying "Vorsicht Heiss", and I said that I would wear that shirt when I came to Germany, and it would be the first thing I wore. Nobody in Royalton knew what it meant besides me and Tyler, but I realized while walking around the airport, that EVERYONE who looked at it could probably read it, and I was feeling anything but "heiss"; I was a little sweaty, I hadn't taken ...

... and everyone printed out their own boarding pass and luggage tickets. We had a pleasant 3.5 hour flight to Frankfurt, and we even shared the plane with another Gapp group traveling to Goeppingen. Everyone agreed that Iceland was a great stop and the adults all talked about returning. I asked the students what the learned or found interesting. Here are some responses. Jade: The Nazis were partly responsible for Iceland's independence. ( to explain - Denmark ...
