It appeared that there were a number of items on stage that I pressure were to be auctioned off later, however at the intermission we returned to the apartment. I tried a variety of things to attempt to remove the still lingering taste of the Schmalzbrot from my mouth, but nothing really seemed to be totally effective. I am certain that my cholesterol level was significantly raised after this meal.

My life has been complete. As I got to wear dirndl, and I met boys in lederhosen!!! The whole Bierfest is at a carnival-like fairground, with roller coasters and arcade games and candy. We eventually found our tent, and stayed for 6 hours. I had two liters of beer, but as I was on my first, the boys were already on their third! Anyway. The beer tent was awesome. It was ...

Then my host, Ben and his flatmate Tina, went to another place to drink and stood in the park soaking up the fact that I was in Germany.

It hasn't really sunk in. Because I took a train, there was no 'welcome to Germany' and given I was already in the EU, there were no passport checks. Which also means no stamps....*sad face*

... and I got to work and were pleasantly surprised when we found the wood, pine, was very light thus we could carry a few pieces each time to the trailer/box each time – made the job quicker, plus there were no spiders thus I could work without worrying.
