On our way back down through the pastel coloured houses that line the tangled streets we passed a huge 18 domed Imaret built in 1817 which was a hostel for Islamic theology students, it us now a hotel. Also close by is ...

All along the street there was hot water gushing out if pipes into the gully running down the edge if the road, the water is lovely and hot, I can just hold my hand under it without it burning.
The bath is a stone affair, maybe 20ft square with steps leading into it, the water gushes out if an overhead pipe. It ...

... Every time we passed a church they would cross themselves and just keep talking.

When we got to Kavala I was waiting for one of them to get off the bus and she was muttering, 'It's too heavy ...'. I said to her, 'You go first.' She said in English, 'Are you German?' I said, No' and she said, 'American?' I said, 'No, Australian.' And she said very excitedly, 'Me too. From Adelaide!'
