Went for a walk down through the town for late brekky/lunch. Come back to hotel about 1300 and started to pack suit cases and get things organized for our journey up to visit Ricarda in Greifswald. Had a afternoon nap. Went down to bar at 1800 and caught up with Narelle n Gerrard from Darwin. Had tea with them in hotel and went back to their room until midnight. Great night ...

The hotels check in time is 2-10 so we had no idea if they'd still be open when we got there and there's no free wifi anywhere to be able to email them. We got to Bruckmuhl at 10 and kept our fingers crossed. All the train stations we've been to are pretty big with huge platforms. Bruckmuhl train station looks like it's in the middle of nowhere. You hope off the train on to grass, ...

... in Zell am See, since we hadn't really seen much of the city yet. It's on the edge of a lake, the Zeller See. And we hadn't eaten lunch.. So we walked down to the lakeshore and found a nice bench to eat our sandwiches. Then we rented an electric boat and went all the way around the lake. The views were beautiful and it was incredibly relaxing.

Afterwards we took a stroll through Zell am See, where there was some kind ...

... early, so it was closed. But the views were incredible! We could actually see six different glaciers in the mountains! And one of the nearby mountains had this weird rippling in the soil that I think is caused by the permafrost of the alpine tundra unfreezing and refreezing.

We soon ascended even further to the Restaurant Fuschertorl, where we took a restroom break. but there were also great views of the mountains and switchbacks, including a place where the ...
