We headed for Galicia. We got in a
short sail and anchored opposite Castrolpol in the first of the many
Rias we are about to explore.
Getting to the anchorage was fun –
there is a moving sandbank therefore its guessing more than anything.
We did run aground, but thankfully its lovely soft sand.

... town so had to park and walk. Not far. Room at the top with rafter beams. Charming and comfortable. Walked around the harbour and up the steep path to the lighthouse and adjacent cemetery to look over the headland to the tiny coves on the other side. Then returned and had a couple of beers sitting by the boats and later a meal of average quality ...
... accept and release. People who only walk shorter sections at a time miss out on something very special. Of course I know not everyone has the luxury of the time it takes to walk for five to seven weeks, it's a real shame they don't. Brian, one of the five Irish gents I met on my second day, who has since gone home, said the Camino is the ultimate in escapism. I would have to agree now my Camino is drawing to a close. What will it be like when I return home?

Great night last night. Could have ended up on my own but checked out the albergue and found the group. They cooked and i supplied some beer. Potatoes, tomatoes onions and hard boiled eggs. Fab Then watched football in local bar, the equivalentof their cup final barc v real madrid. Too much beer again and bed around 12.30. 35 ...
... Today was steep climb to top. Felt really good. Had Bob Hilary to keep me company (music) Above the clouds which was fantastic to look down on. Then down again and into the cloud. Looking down on a flooded valley. Wow! Steep decent to bottom and over the barrage or dam. Beautiful valley. 1k to fab hotel / bar and had pulpo salad and three small beers. Then had to have a sleep! Sun now hot and around ...
