... presented breakfasts we have ever had (food tasted great as well!). We really didn’t want to leave after being pampered so throughly during our stay.

Next we caught the brand new (just started operation on March 14th!) Hokuriku Shinkansen to Nagano. Being a new route, even the locals were taking pictures in front of the new train prior to boarding.

After storing our bags in a train station locker*, we picked up our Snow Monkey Park passes ...

... bus will leave at 1.15pm which it does. We arrive into Nagano at exactly 3.50pm, the time that is stated in the timetable. Talk about punctual service.
We walk the 500 metres to our hotel for the next 4 days. No more airbnb place for a while as there dont seem to be many this side, west side of the island. The hotel is very nice, and our room is huge by japanese standards. We even have real beds, unlike tokyo where we slept on ...

... of the slope and sat back completely horizontal and started picking up speed, came through the slow down flat section at about Mach 3 hit the steep snow slope at the stop zone, went up it like a ski jump and over it and ended up in some plastic signage on the other side. For the last day we decided we had to travel up the valley to Happo, site of the 1998 Japanese Winter Olympics. The day was absolutely perfect and one of the best days skiing I've done with perfect skiing conditions. We met with Adam and warmed up on the green runs and the bottom before headed up the mountain. ... world – dream life / no kids.

We took the gondola straight up to the top of the mountain and the kids were amazing. Straight down. The snow was good but a little icy. We did a few runs at the top of the mountain and then skied down to the bottom of the valley including a red run which the kids took in their stride.
