I tried to prepare the boys that we would spend a little extra time looking for a restaurant tonight, since we did not want to go back to the GastHaus from the previous night (meal was good, but sitting in the non-smoking room all by ourselves was not something we wanted to repeat) adn had no further recommendations from the hotel. We drove around the center of town a couple of times scouting things out and growing worried that we might ...

... off the highway when he saw the name of the ski area on a sign. Sam was hemming and hawing about whether to ski or snowboard until the last possible second, and in the end decided to go with snowboarding. I was a little nervous that this would mean that he would be done for the day after one hour (I think snowboarding just plain leads to more falls for a beginner), but never fear, I was the one whimpering by the end of the first run. We walked nearly 30 k in our two days here and made sure to walk up and down all the pretty streets. Austria is the most expensive country we have visited this far, so we were reduced to eating soggy supermarket sandwiches 3 meals a day. Luckily, ...

... around in the snow while Andi frantically texted his girlfriend sorting out admin for Peru. It was a good evening. On the way down I joked/complained that there was seriously poor lighting on the paths up to Schlossberg and somebody could hurt themselves. "You mean you?" He laughed.

    We called it a night.
    My final night in Graz.

Things I'm grateful for: the snow!! Getting to see it snow at least once on my trip! :D ; and Andi.
