... we bought expired. After turning in our equipment, we stopped by the bar at the bottom of the hill, and this time had the Euros requried to buy a round of cokes and soft pretzels.

... extra letters. It has 8 vowels: a, ä, e, i, o, ö, u, ü. There is one more consonant ß, or sharp S. I think the pronunciation would be very difficult for me and Andi says that the grammar is significantly more confusing than English's. (Yes I am aware 'English's is not a real word.)
