... be amazing. After a short afternoon rest, we ventured back into the old city for dinner. El Born is another downtown neighborhood, adjacent to the Barri Gotic, that used to be the working class residential neighborhood in Barcelona. Over the years, gentrification has transformed this into an artsy neighborhood with lots of cafes and restaurants. ... of the afternoon we strolled around the city center. Some shopped, some got dessert and others walked. It was interesting to see the gothic churches and to walk down the old, narrow streets in Barcelona. We all met up for a buffet style dinner in the marina district. ... sculpture which decorates the whole building to see a Flamenco show. We have never been fans of Flamenco but last nights show was fabulous. Seeing the dancers and singers in the flesh really brought alive the energy and passion of this art. The performers poured their heart and soul into 90 minutes of high energy performance.

We sadly left Lara, rich, Charlie and Esme this morning. We were all very sad to leave as we have had a brilliant time together. We did have one last game of volleyball in the pool which I think mum and i won although only I kept score! Then we had a very long and boring and expensive drive to Barcelona. It took five hours and seemed like every time we got to a toll booth they would charge us heaps and more ...

... and had lunch on the beachside at a very nice restaurant near our hotel. Mum, Dad and I had a big paella and Sam had steak. The paella was black and contained a lot of seafood. It was delicious according to Dad. I wasn't so sure. It was my first Spanish paella. After lunch we went back to the hotel and each had a spa treatment. We all had a hot stone massage.
