Diving time!
... women filing out.lol. We were all tired and relieved to reach the dive boat. It isa beautiful boat with a number of lounging areas and sun decks. Rooms are quite functional and all in all it is a pretty great place to spend a week. The Egyptian wines included with dinner is not too bad at all.

Lovely dinner tonight & ate so much that we were taken for a walk on the deck.
Ged & I let the guys play shuttle cock while we sat in on a musical quiz.

Diving in the south...
... Luckily our guide Khaled was very determined and decided we could manage it despite the waves (good call).
Because it was a bit rough, visibility wasn't too good and when we'd dropped off the reef table and descended a few metres, I was wondering how we were going to find the dugong if she wasn't being cooperative.

New Year's at the Ocean
... The dive lasted for at least 75 minutes and was shallow so I was able to get a couple good pictures of the baby reef sharks we saw. We also saw about a million oysters! It was a great dive and a great place and we were considering staying for another night, but a couple of the guys needed to get back to work the next day and I felt that the hotel was too expensive to stay another night so we left that afternoon. There's nothing like starting the New Year's next to the ocean ...
Staying at St Pauls
After a day on the road we arrived at St Pauls monestary. We were lucky that the monestary was still open and the lovely monks showed us around after giving us hibuscus tea. The monestary dates to the fifth century and was founded in memory of one of Egypt's greatest saints and anchorites, who is said to have lived in a cave over which it was built for a period of some eighty years. ...
