Tonight is my last night in the Azores. I fly to Lisbon tomorrow night, and fly back to Louisville on Friday morning, so this will probably be my last update. I had a great trip, but I'm tired and ready to come home. Not much to report today. Finally had a great work day, we're just about finished. Ankle is doing pretty good.

Have to update yesterday's post. I was wrong about the cows ...

... feed (the cows don't eat hay or corn, they just graze on the grass in the pastures); or if it's the seasoning. I think all but one steak I've had has come with a sauce. Another thing about steaks here (including what they call pork and chicken steaks) often come with a fried egg on top (I do love that!).

The fish. So far I've only had some pretty tame fried fish. I had Hake for lunch on Sunday and it was pretty good. Not ...

What an interesting day today. Let's start with the good.

I have an ankle again, there's a big knot on it, but I can actually see the shape of an ankle.

It was a beautiful day today, couldn't have asked for anything more. Sunshine, fresh air, blue skies, not to warm, not too hot, low humidity. Everything I had hoped for!

Ola - had a big day today. Ended up cancelling my whale watching trip. It was nasty weather this morning and I figured it wouldn't be good to stand on a small boat in the ocean for four hours with my ankle. As you can see in the pictures below, it's turned a nice shade of purple and has swelled down to my toes. Boa noite! Had a pretty eventful day today as you can tell if you read my last entry. Got some muscle relaxers from the hospital, so hopefully I'll be able to hobble around some. !!!!UPDATE!!!!

Went to the hospital for an X-Ray. Waited for three hours but the visit was cheap (31 euros). No fracture, just a sprain. Unfortunately, going to have to take it relatively easy for the rest of the trip, so won't have as many pics!

Work day 2! Things are going a little slow, but we drove some of the site today, which was great because I got to see a lot of the interior of the island. Well, we've moved onto Phase II of the trip - work :(. Didn't do too much today, had some delays with the scheduling, so just sat around most of the day.
