Great 30 minute buzz around, and then home via the grocery store. Alan cooked spaghetti bol, and we prepared ourselves for another sleep. I remember being told to go to Sintra when I first set out to Europe in 2010, and had actually worked for a company named Sintra on internship (the owner Mark Hughes is Portuguese, no surprise) but am really glad I finally got to see it in ...

Leaving the Lisbon Airport last night to sleep in a nice clean bed at the Independente Hostel, I saw hundreds of passengers sleeping on airport benches, window ledges, floors and counter tops.  After having been resident there myself for 12 hours, and experiencing firsthand the utter lack of information provided to would-be passengers of those many many cancelled flights, I felt a lot of sympathy for my fellow travellers.
