... decided to go and have a look at the Opera House a bit closer up. I haven't realised that this was actually more than one structure so this was good to look around, and the exterior is made up of what looks like tiny tiles to give the shell effect. we had really hoped to go to the botanical gardens but there wasn't much point since the rain was coming in now so we went for ice cream and coffee on Circular Quay.

... br> The weeks in work seem to be getting longer and the weekends shorter, so by the time Friday came around we were well in need of a drink with some friends. We headed to a cool bar called The Orchard in Chatswood with some of Abby's colleagues, which had a "beer garden" in an open air area upstairs. Left Sydney to fly to Perth @ 4.30 pm not a bad flight, arrived in Perth @ 6.30 pm and was met by Deb on her way home from work.
Deb showed us the sights of Perth and then took us to Kings Park for a look and a great view of the Swan River and city, what a lovely way to start our holiday.
Arrived at Deb & Sam's and was made welcome by Sam with a lovely glass of wine & some home made anti pesto, cheese & bread, whilst Sam cooked dinner. Lovely :)
