Bye bye Greek Islands...back to Athens

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on Aug 06, 2014

After saying goodbye to Mykonos and the Greek Islands we had the worst ferry ride back to Athens! It was supposed to be 5 hours but was actually 6 and the aircon shat itself about half way through the journey and it seemed like the ferry was way over booked because it was insanely packed! Luckily it only got packed when we stopped at another island so I was able to grab an hour of sleep on the comfy chairs before being ...

    Paradise beach round 2

After 4 hours sleep we managed to make it to the restaurant for brekkie then back to bed for another couple of hours sleep. The plan for today was just chill on the beach and recover from our all nighter. At about midday we dragged ourselves to the beach for swimming and sunbathing. The complex has restaurants, beach bars and a nightclub so we didn't actually need to leave the place we were staying for anything. As we got off the bus we could already hear the music pumping and people dancing at the bar in bikinis. It was ...

At about 0630 when the flies got too much, we picked up a toasted ham and cheese for breakfast and then wandered back to the port to wait for another 2 hours on a marble bench. Finally, the doors to the ferry port station opened and were able to get into the cool away from the sun.

... fries, and it was really amazing, especially for 2.50 euros.

After Gemma had come back we both had a quick nap (and a quick jump in the ocean to wake us up) before we met the group for dinner. Immediately after dinner we went next door to the club where they were having a paint party. We had our faces, arms and whatever else we could think of painted and danced into the night, at one point running down for a swim to cool ...
