... wearing flip flops, but of course we didn't think of that!). Once in, the water was refreshing and so clear we can see the bottom. However, it did get deep very quick. After spending a few relaxing hours swimming and catching some rays, we caught the bus back to Thira.

And so another day passed in beautiful Santorini. We are now ready for another day of exploration tomorrow. Hmmmm... What to do next?....

29) After visiting with people at the hostel until 2:30am, on a whim I decided to get up at 5:30 and see where I could catch a ferry to. Off I went to Piraeus, the port in Athens. I was going to go to Mykonos, but decided Santorini at the last minute. I checked a couple of hostels out for availability before I left, of course! My ferry left at 7am. I set up camp on a padded bench and proceeded to sleep until about 11, when I ventured up to the deck to catch some sun. ...

... thanks, but boring), and to the hot springs (yeah ok, thanks, but mud, yuk), then to the other islet across the water for lunch (yeah ok, thanks, but the food was awful)...

it turns out that sitting in the one spot, over pink cocktails, not stressing your little brain out trying to think of great things to do actually IS the best thing to do on santorini...once we gave up trying, we had smiles on our faces ...

... but I won't name names. After the two-plus hours we were battling the sea, we pulled in to Santirini’s port of Thira. Our hostel kindly sent a bus to drive us up the volcanic crater and to our hostel at Perissa beach.
