I guess everybody has a little idea of Santorini already white houses surrounding the cliffs blue roofs and crystal blue water. It was that and everything more. Narrow alleys, houses edging over the cliffs mostly crystal blue water and lets not forget the donkeys. We first arrived at the pier and my first reaction was thank god I don't have to walk up that. ... I am at my grumpiest.

Santorini is very pretty but a tourist mecca. Some days they have upto 8 cruise ships moor, there was one on Saturday with 2000. We are ready to leave and escape the cruise swarms but we were lucky enough to have 2 nights in the luxury hotel and the yacht isn’t ready. Next sailing again bring on the open seas.

... inside of the caldera near the towns on top has the classic small white cubical house with blue doors that seemingly clings to the cliff side. Locations for real estate are at the mercy of the caldera, so small paths creep haphazardly between a picturesque tiered maze of white domes, white walls, and blue doors. From a distance, the caldera appears snow-capped. This is what separates Santorini from the other Greek Islands.

... peels and all. I’ll post a link to our video if one is ever made. Anyway, the rain came and went, and we got soaked and frozen – whatever. We took our quads up the mountain to Pyrgos and then to the Faros lighthouse to watch the sunset. It was very cold, but beautiful. We hit up the town’s 24-hour bakery a couple times for some sweets, and retired to bed.
