... had 'gathered' for us and sat up there. Lovely, relaxing, with glimpses of mountains, harbour and gardens through the break in the residential buildings around us. After cup of tea Bill and Sue went to Grenville Island while we hot footed it to Stanley park where we did our usual hop on hop off bus trip around the park to scope it out then do a second round to find the place we were most interested in to then walk. Lunch was a nice salmon burger as you do ...
... indeed. We finished with the largest ever chocolate cake we’d seen.
Because of the time difference and latitude difference, Thomas wouldn’t believe us when we said it was 9pm. The sun was still out and only when the waiter confirmed did he believe that it wasn’t 9am!
We finished a great day with a walk around the bay, taking in main harbour and all the huge cruisers.
I think we will like Vancouver… ...
... railway … so long, and the few we counted were 140, 165, 175 carriages in length. The frustrating thing about this is that there are so many tunnels on the railways, and not a lot of 'passing lanes' so we spent quite a lot of the journey either travelling very slow, or stopped waiting to share the single tracks. Interesting experience just the same.

... here. George cooked up a great BBQ chicken & Jana did some great salads & we sat out on their back patio for the meal, under a beautiful sunset. We also had belated celebrations for George's birthday with cheesecake - really nice evening.... Next morning we headed for the airport, timing it to perfection & also with about 70km of gas left in the tank (eg: had to bring it back as empty as possible), so "I was the man" today!...
... the states. After some hours playing frisbee on the beach we made our way back to town, myself and the "Nick" from Abu Dhabi had some Mexican across the street from the hostel then I just walked around the city until trivia at 9pm. I was at the bar at this point watched the end of the Blackhawks game and another solo traveler from Australia came to sit at the bar, from then started a great two hour conversation getting to know eachother, she was much more ...
