... say I looked ridiculous.
Things went well with checking my bag, although I admit I was a bit unnerved when the guy in front of me got pinned with 180 euros in extra fees (but I no longer minded how ridiculous I looked). The flight was generally better than I thought it'd be, as it was a nice plane, and not as cramped as I had imagined. What I didn't really expect though was the absolute bombardment of advertising for the entire duration of the flight. The ...

Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal carivergaIt really is a shame we already booked our flight to France from Porto. We could have easily stayed an extra week in Portugal, there is so much to see here. But we did pretty good with our 2 days in Porto. It's right on the river and the ocean, and on one side of the river are tons of cute, old tiled homes, that look across to the other side of the bank where all of the old Port ...
Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal tommcatt... city. Narrow streets tumbling down to the river with washing hanging from the windows. Lots of bridges, trams and traffic. One side of the river was the centre for the production of port. We went to one of them and sampled some of the product.
We stayed about 100 meters from the sea. Miles and miles and miles of golden sand and boardwalks. We did a lot of walking and a lot of cycling. Beautiful weather. We then moved onto Aveiro further down the coast.
We drove through the rain and Jessica (sat nav) took us up into the mountains. When she wanted us to do a sharp hairpin bend that was impossible with the caravan we had to carry on to a dead end in the road. As the rain got heavier we had to unhitch the caravan, turn round and rehitch and retrace our route. Unfortunately we did it very ...

The next day we hit the road to Porto which was a substantial drive of about 5-6 hours. Luckily this is the day the weather decided to turn, so the bad weather was endured from the comfort of the car. We arrived late to Porto and checked into our less then elegant hostel. Our meal was no better. We ...
Póvoa de Varzim, Porto, Portugal wrklein... the town erupted into a party! I'd been pretty lucky with this sort of stuff with Spain and Thailand, so I couldn't complain too much - but I'm also sad to miss a party!
I really recommend the The Yellow House Hostel if you ever go, they have kittens to boot and was a really chilled hostel getting on its feet. Onward to London to find work...
Well after escaping Spain it was time to go down to Portugal for a couple of weeks. We start of in Porto in the north and will make our way down the coast. We arrived in town after 24hrs of train travel which is quite an effort. We took it easy the first couple of nights just basically drinks and dinner cruised around bit of sightseeing and a look at the town. Porto is a nice town ...
