... something to see. After the show we headed to another white village town called Arcos de la Frontera. This was another cobble stoned hillside town set among 2 churches and a convent. We had a nice lunch and walked around the town. The streets were narrow and tiny and mike did a great job of navigating through the narrow roads (he's getting much better)...we left and started our 2.5 hour drive from there to Nerja our destination for the next 7 days ...

Shae question for daddy: She's riding on his shoulders..."Daddy does everyone have hair in their ears? or just you? It's white hair"

Another one, Daddy is trying to get out of the parking garage in Ronda. It's very steep. He stalled the car 5 times and someone was behind him.. I'm laughing hard and Shae is laughing. She says, "Daddy you're a knucklehead." I really don't know where she gets that...;)

Best day of trip so far...

... took us about 30 minutes to get to Grazalema and we fell in love with it as we were driving in. It's set in the hillside but is surrounded by national forest land. I've said it a hundred times about how beautiful the scenery is, but this by far was our favorite. It was breathtaking. The village was so cute set up a bit more for tourists than where we're staying. It has a great square where everyone was meeting. Monday ...

The sting...

... hill. He was just starting to break out in a rash when I got back. We realized we didn't have any adult benadryl so he took 4 teaspoons of Shae's. He seemed to be doing ok so we walked down to town to look for a pharmacy to order another epi-pen. They had to special order and it wouldn't arrive until 5pm that night. Which was actually pretty good (this town is small). Mike started looking bad so we walked back up the hill. He then got pretty sick ...

Noreen--hanging with some Canucks in a small town

The first town on the western part of the pueblos blancos--Arcos de la Frontera. Met two Quebecers travelling around southern Spain for 8 days. Yup, they only had that much time! They had bought a lot of wine and olive oil along their journey, so they were lugging heavy packs, and loaded with bags and bags. Went to a cafe and chatted with Isabel and Bobby over some ...

Gibraltar to Arcos de la Frontera

... our room was very loud. After trying several measures to reduce the noise created from the wind we ended up switching rooms around midnight. This next room was much quieter, but there was no AC and the beds were hard as rocks. So by 4am, Adam couldn't take it anymore and said he was going back to our first room. Thankfully the wind had died down and the noise along with it. We ended up only getting a few hours sleep before leaving for the airport in Sevilla.

... airport. Jillian was to continue her Spanish adventure in the direction of Barcelona and I was to continue mine in the direction of Amsterdam. When I finally arrived home I sat on my bed in my cool, white room and called Peter feeling happy that this was my life. To my bookcase I added the few souvenirs of my Spanish holiday and was happy that this was my life. I could travel as much as I liked, only now I had somewhere and someone to come back to.

My Patron Saint vs. Ditka

... get to hostels, bug infested pensions, seven hour bus trips, etc. are all making this an experience of a lifetime for me. I imagine Chad and I over dinner with our kids in 10 years or so, and he will have them hysterical laughing at me tucked so tight in my sleep sack afraid of spiders that he couldn't even hold my hand! Yes, these are the memories we will cherish.... those who know me, know I am a blunt stream-of-consciousness speaker and writer. These postings are no different.

... you can get a rough guess at how big a place is by the front of it. One of the guys informed me my spanish sucks, well no news there, but it was a joke. aparently I type it about as well as I speak it. So one of the previous posts was austa legos or something like that. instead of what it should have been but I'm sure most of you could figure it out. I think that's most of it for now. so till next time.... don't step on rotten oranges, they stink
