We all decided that today we would not ski. It is so early in the season and we were tired from the past two days, so we had a big walk on some of the trails around the village and in general just enjoyed being together as a family. After dropping my car off in Banff, I made my way to Kelowna on the bus, more as a stopover on the way to Whistler than anything else. Whistler! The definition of a dream in white. The whole season it has been snowing like mad. Of course, when I arrived there was only sunshine. But with a couple of beers and good company even low powder days are fun. You get kinda spoiled here... Finally, it started snowing on the day I was supposed to head back to Vancouver. The plan is to hit the middle of the mountain early - they only groom a few of the runs so it leaves plenty of fresh powder turns right under the lifts - they don't open the high alpine areas until a couple of hours later cos of avalanche control so when those areas open around 9-10 there's a rush over to get first tracks there as well.
