Agriturismo, St. Teresa and the Capes - We have seen and read about Agriturismos which are located all over Italy. They are working farms where you can go and stay the night. They are well run, inexpensive, and usually quite nice. You can normally have your meals as well. We booked a few nights in an Agriturismo called "La China" way up in the rugged mountains above the northeast coast of Sardinia. The Agriturismo was a WONDERFUL experience for us. ... The culture is very different to home. People don't go home after work and have a meal and watch TV. They head out for a drink or meal most nights. All their shops are open until late and its very social. After restocking with food and refuelling we headed off to drop Ali in Rome for her flight home. Food choices have been dominated by Pizzeria offerings for the last 3 days as the prices in the more varied restaurants have been prohibitive! Still, we have had some great pasta and seafood, accompanied by delicious Sardinian wine. I would whole heartedly recommend a trip here ' try it in one of the many campervans to be truly free of accomodation really only being available in towns.....
