    ... It's a little bit different atmosphere walking around here, and we're trying to blend in, although I feel as though we REALLY stick out. Everyone seems very well dressed and "cool." I really like it here. When we got back from Bamberg today there was a festival in Weiden, so after we went to a Greek restaurant and got 3 rounds of free ouzo, we joined in to sing with a backstreet boys' cover band with some other Germans. It was great. Can't wait for tomorrow ...

    ... has been unkind. Poverty along with buildings in a state of disrepair is clearly visible. But that is not the case travelling through the neat rolling countryside of West Bohemia, additionally unlike Bulgaria; litter is not strewn along the roadside. There is a lot of farmland and everywhere lush and green. Some of the scenery reminds me of North West Maryland.

    For the first time we really do feel we are in a foreign land. English other than that being spoken by us Is yet to be heard. This is a popular resort town for Germans and Russians.
