People always talk about that hole in the wall with the best meal they ever had. Well, we had one of those meals. We had picked Rachel up at the airport - driving the hour and 20 minutes up from Tulum to the airport. ... was a huge open mouth coming to you. When I first jumped I stayed quiet filming with my new GoPro camera and seemed like the shark was going to bump it because it kept coming and coming, I was patient to hold my position long enough to have the shark change direction at the last second and then film all its side and swim along as I admired all his magnificent huge body and fins. It was amazing!!!

Finally arrived in mexico, flight delayed, bags took ages, customs picked me out to search, finally picked up rental car 6 hours late and it was dark....eek.....driving in mexico in the dark....OMG...we shouldn't be doing this.....bugger let's stay in hotel near airport and lose the first night in tulum. Great they are all full due to everyone from USA missing their flight too. Ok let's drive and pull off ...

Right folks - first day in Playa del Carmen, it's 8am and it is HOT! Better turn on the air con.

I have not met the tour yet as I arrived late yesterday! Bit of advice for anyone coming from cancun airport to Playa, private taxi shuttle is totally worth it $34!

Right no dilly dally, let's get this party started!!!

... and the main pyramid which has exactly 364 steps (for days in the year), on the solstice the sun shines/shadows perfectly to form a pyramid with a beam of light which ends at a snake head (symbol for life). It also has weird sound reflects nice. A loud noise would be reflected louder - when you clap a noise comes back which sounds like a bullet ricochet (the noise it makes in the movies).
