    ... able to view the frescos as they had been covered to protect the ancient paintings from exposure to the environment. We were sad to not see the frescos, but understood the value in protecting them. On the corner of the Temple was a large mask of a Mayan Ruler that was carved on the very corner of the building to enhance the 3D effect of the carving.

    Thankfully our bus ride up the coast to Playa Del Carmen was a nice quick 1 hour trip. As we came into Playa the bus drove through the streets and our excitement grew, because Playa del Carmen looked AWESOME!!.
