So on our third day in Puerto Rico we decided to spend the day in Old San Juan & explore the Hacienda style architecture and also try out some authentic Puerto Rican food. Luck being on our side, we were there in the midst of San Sebastian festival, a grand gala spanning over a week. The promised land. World-class board-breaking waves of Tres Palmas and Domes skirted by the crystal clear waters of Desecheo Island. House right on the beach with a swimming pool. Dive Shop, Taino Divers, in Black Eagle Marina. Banana Dang and the Rum Shack up in Puntas. Life is SWEET!

All flights arrive to BQN at extremely inconvenient times 4am! During my time in Rincon I made the trip thrice. Call Carlos in Rincon. He is dependable, friendly, speaks fluent English, is a Rincon local, has a huge van for your surf boards and is an all around good guy.

... would take in some snorkeling. We headed out with Taino Divers to Desecheo Island which is 13 miles off the west coast. This snorkel made me want to take up diving. We were in anywhere from 6 to 50 feet of crystal clear water. The bottom was as easily seen from the surface as it would have been to dive, just without the detail of being on the bottom.
