We had one last stroll around the laneways overlooking the caldera, one last meal at the excellent Pelican cafe and one last ice cream from our favourite sweet shop and one last soak in the Jacuzzi.

... it was my duty to go in with the girls. But then, Heath was already dressed for it.... and he seemed like a nice guy... (all right, I know he was a complete stranger an hour ago, but hey, we knew him now, and if it meant I didn’t have to go in to the arctic water...).

... was getting squashed! Just near there is the Red Beach. This is an impressive location, with towering red cliffs hanging over a beach of black sand and pebbles. We had a bit of a look around and then headed off for our next destination.

I saw a sign saying lighthouse. Ever a sucker for a lighthouse I turned the car in that direction. We came to the far end of the island, yet another location with stupendous views. Although the lighthouse itself is not accessible you ...

... the time we made it to Oia. Sadly, Oia was virtually shut down. It was a shame to see what is clearly a beautiful village present itself as a virtual ghost town. We eventually found one place where we could eat and we relaxed with a wine to distract us from the pain our feet were feeling. Unfortunately the famed sunset did not happen due to some low lying cloud. We’ll try again another day...

The next bus back to Fira was nearly an hour away so we called a taxi to take us home.

... a little group of 8, plus our captain. It is a wonderful little quirky

the conversation going and display most all of the positive qualities
of friends to the south - warm, hospitable and always good for a laugh!

... the pool and beach relaxing. On my second day I went on a kayaking trip where we paddled for several hours, out of the bay to a private beach. Along the way we had a bbq and stopped at some spots to do cliff jumping in to the ocean. After three nights of camping, my back was hurting and after three nights of partying my whole body was hurting so I decided it was time to move on, to what I thought was my next stop: Paros Island. No, I haven't fallen overboard a Greek ferry. I am alive still. I've just been so busy suntanning and really doing absolutely nothing I haven't really gotten around to this yet. So this will be the lamest entry yet as I still don't feel like sitting here and typing. Ios is not nearly as good as Lagos, but it is still slower season so things haven't picked up yet. It's an awesome place though, and you will be lucky if I don't chuck it all in and just stay on this island and ...

... curry with 3 girls from Singapore who were also staying there. I'm actually toying with the idea of moving there and dancing on the street corner for swiss francs. I might acutally do it. Scotland and the Scottish countryside were great as well. I spent two nights in this little cottage in the middle of nowhere with 5 Scots and had a blast BBQ'ing and playing drinking games. After lunch, we finally get to see the hotel room. Hotel Keti is the best hotel throughout our honeymoon! Best value for money and best view from the room!

This is the life. Today, I got up around noon, went to the beach, had a couple of beers, went to find a sandwich, was charged around 50 cents for a tuna sandwich(!). After lunch, I went back to the beach, hung out for a little while and then got ready to go to the clubs. Tomorrow, I suspect the whole day will repeat itself. This is the life.
