      Key West is the southernmost city in the United States. It is where US 1 ends! It is also further from mainland Florida than to Cuba, which is 90 miles away. Many of the residents of Key West are actually immigrants from the Bahamas known as Conchs (pronounced Conks) who arrived in the early 1800s. That's why to date, this place is also know as the Republic of Conch.

      ... S., which would seem a bit odd since even if you believe that Key West is part of the continental U.S., there is a Naval base further south, and if you count it as an island, Hawaii is further south. Massaging the facts for the sake of tourism seems to be an art-form down here.

      ... something ground up that fish like to eat) In a few minutes we had a swarm of fish......We couldn't catch them fast enough. All of a sudden we looked at each other and said....this is too easy! You guessed it.................not a fish that is eaten............Bahama Grunt or something like that..       ... trashy cheap t-shirt dive to the upper-upper end galleries that would ask for a viewing deposit if they thought they could get away with it! All in all, a lot of fun. We rounded out the afternoon with free Happy Hour drinks at the B&B - including a strong contender for the best margarita on the island!
      So, the *plan* went like this - celebrate V-Day with our friends at a nice eatery, maybe a nice dessert, and a stroll around town.
