... the Maritimes Caravan recommended that we try it. Glad we did. We both had their fish and chips baskets finished off with their individual key lime pie - a layered desert rather than a slice of pie. Good food at a good price. Only problem was that with the windy conditions, it was a bit difficult holding on to your drink and your plate at the same time. before we met our friends in the keys, we stayed in florida city and visited Biscayne national park, anhinga trail in everglades, got some fruit shakes at Robert's here and cinnamon rolls at the not amish bakery then we got to meet up with kathy and lynn and linda and maggie at the sugarloaf women's land, just about 20 miles north of key west. the land felt like a jungle to me, which I liked, however, it was hot and humid and ...

Then it was time to drive back to Miami. We didn't stop all the way back so made good time but it was still 9.30pm when we got back. Took some photos out the car windows on the way back - see attached.
We were going to go for a walk to get some (late) dinner but some storms came in and it started to rain heavily so we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant. The food was once again, sensational. Time for bed after our big ...
It was a dark and stormy night, and we are underway. Having embarked about noon, we had a lovely lunch in the Verandah lounge and then visited with some folks from Raleigh North Carolina while we awaited our stateroom readiness. Finally that happened and had another wait for luggage, but before long we were unpacked, had our very thorough safety drill and then prepared for dinner.
