... the sand. In some 30 years of ordained ministry I had never done a beach wedding nor one barefoot and it was really fun. Since there were no attendants, no Best Man or Maid of Honor, and no rehearsal, the evening before Andy, Christina, her mother and I had dinner together. ... Key West since it was so hot and just got right back on the ship when the tour was over. It appeared to be a charming little place so I would like to spend more time there when the weather was better. We were intrigued by an island right off of Key West with a bunch of nice houses. You had to take a boat to get to your house.

I almost forgot! RaRa got me on the paddle board also. It is really fun. We either swim or paddle board in the afternoons when we get in from fishing or if we don't go out................the wind has been high the last few days and we haven't is still fun just relaxing and working on the boat.

While a stretch to link Audubon to the house itself (it wasn't built until more than 10 years after he left the Keys), but he did enjoy the gardens (10 acres at the time) and used some of those plant cuttings for backgrounds on his famous lithographs. Considered the crowning achievement of Key West's renovation afforts, the house was beautifully restored and contains interesting and unique period furnishings. It also houses a few Audubon originals. ...
