... the castle. Unfortunately it was not open, but you could still stroll around the fort bits on the hillside. Pretty impressive and nice for a wander. Again on such a beautiful sunny day, we were spoilt with views. Managed to spot another seal in the water aswell!

From here it was time to head home, but what a lovely few days of winter Cornish sun!

... From here we decided to head back and to our delight, the seals were still there! We got comfty for the show and watched again as they played and provided us with plenty entertainment.

From Lands End we drove the scenic route around the coast to St Ives. We strolled through the lovely streets and cobbled lanes until we emerged on the seafront. It's very picturesque here with a large sandy harbour and a beautiful sandy beach backed by sand dunes in the bay ...

Quite a cool experience walking across the sea but unfortunately the castle on the island was closed- the downside of ...

... universities. In fact, India has over 650 universities, many, such as Benares University which we toured in Varanasi, having world status. We saw roadside universities all the way from Delhi to Jaipur and it is clear that a huge number of highly trained scientists and engineers will be powering India’s resurgence as a superpower in the coming decades. We learned that the brain-drain of Indian doctors to the west has now been reversed as well-paid ...

So we left Salisbury for a trip which Miss Google of the maps said would take about 4 hours, this turned out to be wildly optimistic, we left at 9 and didn't get in to Penzance until 5 (although we did stop in Devon for Devonshire tea and visit the Dartmoor zoo on the way). The countryside is so picturesque and we got to drive some properly narrow country lanes bordered by hedgerows. Linda, I've put in a photo for you of a very ...
